Introduction
Are you looking for a unique and creative way to decorate your room? Have you ever considered making your own paper flower lamp? Not only is it an inexpensive and fun DIY project, but it adds a personal touch to your living space.
Materials Needed
- Tissue paper in your desired colors
- Utility knife or scissors
- Hot glue gun
- String lights
- Wire or floral tape
- Paper lanterns in various sizes
Instructions
Step 1: Cut the Tissue Paper
Using a utility knife or scissors, cut the tissue paper into circles. The size of the circle depends on how big you want your flower to be. For example, for a small flower, cut a 2-inch circle, and for a large flower, cut an 8-inch circle.
Step 2: Fold and Cut the Tissue Paper
Take one circle and fold it in half. Then fold it in half again, creating a cone-like shape. Using your utility knife, cut the tip of the cone, creating a small slit.
Step 3: Open the Tissue Paper
Gently unfold the tissue paper to create a flower shape. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each piece of tissue paper.
Step 4: Glue the Tissue Paper onto the Paper Lantern
Take a paper lantern and put a small amount of hot glue on the back of a tissue paper flower. Place the flower onto the paper lantern and press down firmly. Repeat this process, layering the flowers until you achieve your desired look.
Step 5: Attach the String Lights
Insert the string lights into the paper lantern and attach them using wire or floral tape. Make sure the lights are evenly distributed throughout the lantern.
